Tall Trees' supported living neighbourhoods are designed to help everyone get the most out of life.

At the core of Tall Trees is independent living and that is why many of our residents have joined us.

Here are some of their stories:

The time had come when we realised we couldn't manage our large family home of 55 years. It was a big decision to leave and we are confident our move to Tall Trees is the best decision we could have made. Our daughter and son-in-law discovered Tall Trees close to their home which has made family interaction a lot easier. We now have the best of both worlds - we've retained our independence and we have the care and security we know we now need. The family is close by too. KEN AND VAL PLATZ

I couldn't look after myself anymore and my family looked at many facilities before they found Tall Trees. The others all required putting my name on a waiting list and no one could actually tell us when I would be able to get in. I was able to come to Tall Trees straight from hospital (I was one of three founding residents). It was the best decision we could have made. I've always been a loner but here I have friends close by whenever I feel like a little company. APRIL COLLISON

I looked at five or six different facilities in the area close by my niece. I didn't like any of them; they were cold and had unfriendly staff. My daughter heard of Tall Trees and we came to have a look. I put my deposit down the same day! The staff were all warm and friendly. I've made a lot of new "Good" friends already, and am very pleased with my decision, especially knowing that as time goes on I will be secure and have someone looking out for me. RITA MARTINEZ

I lost my husband two years ago and was left living in the family home - a high set house with many steps. I had a couple of falls after which the family and I decided I should be somewhere safer, where I could still be independent and also have care if I should ever need it. I'm very happy with my decision to join the other residents here at Tall trees, and I've made many new friends in such a short time. EILEEN SMITH

I've been widowed for eleven years now. Looking after the big home and the garden was getting beyond me. I love my garden. I chose Tall Trees because I could remain independent and I could nurture my own smaller garden. I could also keep my little companion, Jodie, with me. In just four months my new life suits me to a tee and I've very happy I'm here. LORETTA HICKEY

I lived in NSW and my family were all in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast. One day I had a fall and later became very ill. I was misdiagnosed and put into a facility in NSW which was very depressing and uncaring. My daughter-in-law heard of Tall Trees and came to check it out. Because of my condition at the time, I needed regular care and support, sometimes on a 24 hour basis. That was 7 months ago. I'm pleased and very proud to say I've improved so much I no longer need the care services and can even go shopping at the local shopping centre (just behind Tall Trees), on my OWN! Thank you Tall Trees, and thank you also to my loving daughter-in-law for finding Tall Trees. BETTY JACKSON

I looked at several retirement villages and care facilities. I was looking for good medical care for when I need it and I wasn't satisfied with any of these facilities, one in particular was horrible! Then I saw Tall Trees' program where care is as much or as little as you need, when you need it. Since coming here I've been well satisfied with the staff's warm gentle manner. LORIE EWINGS
