Tall Trees goes with the Flo
Former Queensland Senator, Flo Bjelke-Petersen has joined the Tall Trees team.

Tall Trees is the first Supported Living Community in Queensland, where residents can maintain their independence by living in their own home and choosing their care levels when they need it.

It’s a fantastic new approach to aged care that has Lady Flo excited.

“Queensland’s seniors, who have underpinned the growth to greatness of our state, really deserve a new alternative that bridges the gap between traditional hostels, nursing homes and retirement villages,” she said.

Supported Living is set to bring major changes to the options older Australians have in aged care, and Lady Flo wants to be at the forefront of educating people.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to bring greater awareness of Supported Living to all older Australians. It’s well overdue.”

Visitors to Tall Trees will have the chance to meet Lady Flo at the first Tall Trees Family Open Day, to be held on September 9 and 10 to celebrate the opening of the new Leisure and Community Centre.
Community And Leisure Centre Opens

The Tall Trees Community and Leisure centre has opened its doors. This brand new complex offers residents of Tall Trees world class facilities.

The sparkling blue swimming pool is perfect for aqua-aerobics, or for the less energetic, a refreshing dip on a summer's day. The bubbling spa is both relaxing and therapeutic.

The Tall Trees restaurant serves delicious meals, and gives you the chance to meet friends for a bite to eat. In addition to the indoor dining offered by the restaurant, an alfresco dining area gives diners fresh air and a unique ambience.

Consultation rooms allow visiting medical and health professionals a great space to meet with residents.

A comprehensive library room with computer and internet access keeps the mind sharp!

Residents are already enjoying the benefits of the facility and in the near future, organised activities will be running from here.
The New Age in Aged Care... Supported Living

In times when aged care is becoming an increasing concern for social welfare and community infrastructure, it is with great excitement that a brand new concept in aged care has been released.

Supported Living is an innovative alternative to traditional aged care, offering an option between low and high care facilities. The core focus of Supported Living is excellent on-site care and wellness services which cater for all levels of care, whilst encouraging residents to maintain their independence.

This is an integral concept for “Ageing in Place”.

“Ageing in Place has been a concern for government initiatives for quite some time. Supported Living now offers a sustainable solution to heightened care demands that will reduce these enormous pressures”, says Sales and Marketing Manager for the group.

Stylish 1 and 2 bedroom practical homes are fully self contained with kitchens, dining and living areas. A separate laundry allows residents to maintain their total independence.

A central leisure and community centre offers a full range of enjoyable activities which residents are encouraged to take part in organised by an Activities Co-Ordinator. An on-site restaurant offers nutritious, traditional home cooked meals, giving residents the choice of preparing meals in their own kitchen or dining at the restaurant.

One of the great benefits of Supported Living is that couples can live together even if they have differing health requirements.

There are many married couples who are forced to live apart due to ailing health or frailty. Now they have an option which means they can live together and manage their care requirements independently.

One of the key benefits is residents are not subject to means or assets testing and veterans can still utilise their full entitlements.

Location has been a well thought out consideration for this Supported Living community. It is close to shops, medical facilities and public transportation with direct access to the new Rochedale shopping centre.

Marketing and construction of stage one is underway on a 1.6ha site on Sunningdale Avenue, Rochedale.

“We are very confident that Tall Trees will exceed expectations because it is the first community in Queensland of its type to provide a tierless level of aged-care service with a hospitality industry-style approach.

“We offer a range of groundbreaking financial incentives earmarked to ease and encourage the decision of over-75s to choose Tall Trees.

“It is part of our commitment to ensuring this new era and level of lifestyle and service remains within the reach of a maximum number of seniors.”
